Our Business LED Rebate Application Process

Many business owners and executives don’t have time to research and apply for LED rebates. This article will take you through our step by step process and explain how it’s done and what to expect.

A thorough assessment of your facility is performed by one of our energy auditors. We schedule a time that is most convenient for your business and conduct the audit with very little to zero disruption. Whether your lighting goals are to maximize energy savings, increase lighting output, aesthetics, or somewhere in between, our team will make the process simple and efficient. After the clients needs are considered and the audit is completed, the energy analysis report can be generated. The report will show annual LED savings per year, savings on eliminating maintenance expenses, and return on investment. Our LED projects typically have a 2 year or better return. Interested? After reviewing the new lighting plan layout and design with the client, both parties sign the contract (if needed). Signing contracts for lighting upgrades is a good idea. It protects both parties if something were to happen any time during or after the project phase that does not agree with the terms in the contract. Some of the topics that should be discussed in the contract are annual energy savings, total rebate amount, security deposits, scheduling, and approximate project duration.

We coordinate with the client and arrange the best schedule to perform the installation. Because every business is unique, we are prepared to do the installation work at any time (morning/afternoon/evening/weekends). We recycle everything. Any old fluorescent lamps, bulbs, ballasts, metal fixtures, are all taken away and properly disposed of at an Eco station in Edmonton. Many previous clients have been amazed of our cleanliness during projects, we always do our best to leave areas of work cleaner then when we got there.

When the project is complete, we do a final walk through with you and confirm that everything has been done according to the contract. Any new hardware such as motion sensors, photo sensors, timers, or sub meters are discussed.

Energy Efficiency Alberta requires that the customer sign the Terms and Conditions form found here and also a recent energy bill of the facility where the work was done. Leave everything else in regards to submitting the application to us. We will send brief updates as to the status of your application. Expect to receive the rebate cheque anywhere between 1-3 months after project completion.
